Fiji Villa Accommodation
|
If your goal is to recharge, rejuvenate, and revitalize yourself then come home to Fiji and welcome to Vale Sekoula.
Vale Sekoula is a unique ocean front villa situated on Fiji’s 3rd largest island Taveuni (Tah-vee-ew-nee). Considered to be the most beautiful island in Fiji and aptly named the Garden Island, it rightfully lives up to its name with tropical rain-forests, thick with vegetation and an array of indigenous flowers.
Location
Vale Sekoula is located on Taveuni, one of the 322 islands that make up the Fiji archipelago. A breathtakingly beautiful island with winding roads which weave through lush tropical forests, past magnificent waterfalls to suddenly reveal a sparkling white beach where yours are the only footprints in the sand.
Accommodation
At Vale Sekoula we offer you a private beachfront, two bedroom villa with all the luxuries and comforts you could ever want.
The master bedroom offers a king size bed with French doors leading to the pool and a breathtaking view of the ocean. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans that coupled with the refreshing breeze from the ocean makes for a restful night’s sleep. The living room, with its cathedral ceiling, fans, comfortable furniture and state of the art entertainment centre is a great place to hang out. Chances are you will spend most of your time out on the deck, relaxing in your lounge chair, enjoying the gorgeous view of the gardens, ocean and islands beyond.
Dining & Entertainment
You can take a nice stroll down the road to visit a number of quaint casual restaurants, or a short taxi ride can take you to a handful of other choices on the island. Prices are very reasonable at the majority of establishments.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, to make from the simplest to even the most gourmet of meals. An outdoor gas grill is also provided. Buna will be glad to prepare any or all of your meals (no extra charge) using local fresh meats, fish and produce. She will gladly share with you all of her secrets on preparing healthy mouth-watering dishes. Ask her to show you how to make her delicious breakfast smoothie, low calorie but so yummy.

Activities
Bouma Falls
Bouma Falls is a must see attraction. It is located in Tavoro National Park, approximately 30 minutes by taxi. The first waterfall is a 10 minute walk from the entrance. The area around the falls has been landscaped and picnic tables and changing areas have been added. The waterfall is approximately 80 feet in height and falls into a refreshing pool where one can swim and dive off the rocks. If you are feeling energetic, a wonderful trail has been built up to the second and third waterfalls. It will take you 40 minutes to walk to the second falls and an additional 20 minutes to the third. This is a great ½ day trip. Bring an old pair of runners to make the climb more enjoyable.
International Dateline
The 180th Meridian cuts straight through Taveuni but for workability, the International Dateline doglegs around Fiji so that everyone is operating on the same time. Along the water side of the road towards Wairiki, you’ll see a small, red survey beacon marking the spot. If you take the road up hill from Waiyevo (towards the hospital) and cross the field on the right, you’ll find a large board in honour of the meridian, with local information and a map. It’s the only place in the world where you can have one foot in yesterday and one in today.
Warrior Burial Cave
Created by a lava tube, this cave is about 350 meters long and terminates at the ocean edge. In former times it was used by Fijians as a secret burial cave for warriors. It is believed that Taveuni’s greatest warriors were buried here in order to keep their remains hidden from enemies. Most of the large bones were removed in the 1950s after the cave was found. Guides will proudly show you the biers where their ancestors were laid to rest. As one would expect the cave is dark and damp. Be sure to bring along a pair of hiking shoes and a flash light. The entire trip, which includes a look at Soqulu Plantation, takes about 3 hours.
Others activities include Waitavala Waterslide, Bird Watching at Des Voeux Peak, Bird Watching at Qeleni, Vidawa Forest Excursion, Lavena Village, Coastal walk and Wainibau Waterfalls, Lake Tagimoucia and others.
